As the temperature continues to drop, we always become that little bit more excited to curl up with our books and writing projects. However, I decided to look around for some events that are taking place over the next month, to get us out and about in Brisbane’s literature world.
Children's Storytime in the Park – July 2nd
With the excitement of the school holidays almost upon us, libraries all over Brisbane are holding events like Children’s Storytime, where children get to experience the magic of stories, music and more. This event takes all that great stuff and creates a pop-up library outside in the sunshine! How could you and your family not find an excuse to check it out?

This workshop is taught by Sue Wright who runs Tiny Owl Workshop, a micro-publisher that is based in Brisbane, known for novellas, children’s books and other projects.

Camp NaNoWriMo – All Month
Starting July 1st, the National Novel Writing Month has one of their bi-annual writing camps, made to encourage people to write towards a goal and stick to it each day of the month. The site helps set out the month’s final goal in smaller, more manageable amounts, and encourages people to go at their own pace.
