Rory Hawkins

I am an unidentified creature masquerading as a “semi”-productive human being. Originally from the UK – yes I won’t go home you've tried – I'm currently studying at UQ. Another arts student, majoring in writing and (w/sh)itty comebacks! I wish to one day have a job that needs a suit and tie. I think publishing might be a safe bet.

When not at uni or trawling the internet, I'm probably doing something to do with writing – reading about writing, reading books, reading about books, jotting weird thoughts down about books. Maybe I’ll eventually get round to my own. Favourite series include James Treadwell’s Advent Trilogy and anything Douglas Adams.

This is my first try at a blog or column; with any new experience comes a degree of uncertainty in your own ability. But that uncertainty means nothing if you’re willing to be open and try your best. Or think about it for too long. Let’s stick to the former.
